As we say in the Fizz club – This bottle is sexy as Fizz! This is the most EXCLUSIVE bottle we have probably ever featured in the champagne club!
This happens to be the very bottle that the Deutz Maison is celebrating 150 years in business! This is the anniversary champagne! I was able to get it for our club members. This champagne was VERY LIMITED and it serves to honor the founder William Deutz. How cool is this?! This is 100% Pinot Noir and these grapes are coming from the exclusive parcel in Aÿ, all one vineyard, one plot!
I finally popped it open tonight – really because its the finale night for the Bachelorette! I love popping champagne always… but especially on show finales.
This is a delicious champagne for summer.
Coming to you from the Deutz Champagne House the Côte Glacière and of course the powerhouse vintage being 2012.
About this Champagne!
This champagne in all its glory created by Chef de Cave, Michel Davesne brings out the elegance, refined notes that are completely harmonious. This cuvée is well structured with great personality.
Tasting Notes ~The nose is very expressive and reflects the south-facing slope on which the grapes grow. The floral and ripe fruit aromas are warm and immediate. This plot was harvested at perfect maturity. This terroir wine is already opulent and, in its contained energy, I find the primary aromas of lilac blossom, pears and peaches… and the glimmering promise of the exotic, honeyed notes to come.
The palate already shows a seductive generosity, yet retains the clean lines of the wines from the slope underpinned by the minerality derived from the chalky subsoil. It shows nobility. The balance between purity and complexity gives us the impression of great harmony and refinement.
The finish is equally promising and suggests to the fine champagne lover that this is a wine for long cellar-ageing.
I paired this with a very FRENCH Hors d’oeuvre
Sliced radishes with salted butter. It’s refreshing and perfect for summer.
Santé everyone!
